Mission Point Press has partnered with the Petoskey, Michigan, social-media marketing company Keep It Real Social to provide authors with leading-edge social-media help. There are two programs available.

1 - Social Media Marketing - $800

Keep It Real Social can provide authors with comprehensive social-media instruction. This is a one-time fee for the author who wants to use social media to market themselves online. After the services listed below, for additional assistance or guidance, the fee is $100 per hour and scheduled with Keep It Real Social CEO Sommer Pouquett at sommer@keepitrealsocial.com.

Package Includes:

  • An introductory Zoom meeting (1 hour) with the author to discuss goals and assess online skills and comfort level.

  • An audit of the author's current online presence.

  • Recommendations of social-media platforms that best fit the author's skill set, comfort level, and time availability.

  • Setting up and optimizing those platforms.

  • After set-up and optimization, a second Zoom meeting (1 hour) to discuss the recommendations and share with the author the recommended platforms, how the platforms work, and how to schedule posts. A follow-up video is emailed to authors for their files.

  • Creation and scheduling of five unique and customized social-media posts for each platform.

  • A PDF with getting-started tips for Facebook, how to increase your visibility on Instagram, and how to generate leads on Linkedin.

  • A follow-up email with recommended #hashtags for the author to use, with best practices on using #hashtags.

  • A third1-hour Zoom, after the author has reviewed the documents and created and scheduled 2-3 posts, to answer questions and teach the author how to use Facebook advertising and boost posts.

  • A follow-up video for the author on scheduling posts and how to advertise, with best practices and recommendations.

  • A final Zoom (30 minutes) to go over any questions.

What keep it real social needs to get started:

  • A completed author onboarding questionnaire.

  • A copy of the author's book sent to Keep it Real Social, 208 Petoskey Street, Petoskey, MI 49770.

Authors interested in the services of Keep It Real Social must:

  • Have a personal Facebook account and know how to log in with the username and password

  • Understand how to use Zoom and share their screen—KIRS cannot troubleshoot computer or Zoom issues

  • Know how to attach and send photos in an email

2 - set you up on goodreads - $250:

Goodreads is an invaluable social-media site for promoting your book and having an ongoing conversation with your fans. Keep It Real Social can get you started with this all-in-one package. It includes:

- Helping the author set up their Goodreads account, including the author's profile with headshot.

- Uploading the author's metadata and book cover.

- Verifying that the book is available on Goodreads and if not, troubleshoot.

- Pointing the author to how-to information on Goodreads for self-marketing, communications, and promotion.

Note: Keep It Real Social will work closely with you in creating and optimizing your profile. Authors must provide the email address that they use to sign into their Kindle Direct Publishing account, an author website, a headshot, and book cover artwork. After getting those things, KIRS can optimize, add books to the database, and apply to the Goodreads author program. The process takes 2-10 days and is dependent on a Goodreads librarian approving and adding the book after submission. KIRS will then provide an abundance of reference documents and resources.
