Fr. Fred Thelen will welcome the public to a special reception where he’ll speak about his new release, Terrorized: A Memoir of Trauma, Healing, and Coming Home, from Mission Point Press. Thelen recounts his life as an associate priest with the Maryknoll missionaries in Peru, the harrowing experiences, the personal and spiritual growth, and the realization, upon returning home, that his life was irrevocably changed. The book launch reception takes place on Sunday, October 20, at 1:15 p.m. (following noon Mass) in Guadalupe Hall at Cristo Rey Church, 201 W. Miller Rd., Lansing, MI. Fr. Thelen served as the pastoral leader at the church from 1993 to 2019. Copies of the book will be available for purchase and signature at the event.
